Touch Screen Order-Taking
Workstation Is Introduced

On June 1, 2002, National Systems Corporation introduced its new touch screen order-taking workstation for the TMS® line of point-of-sale systems.

While based on the most current technology available, the new touch screen workstation works with existing DOS-based systems as well as newer G2 (Windows 2000 systems). It allows orders to be taken in any sequence the customer may chose to give their order, and provides on screen guides to assist in training.

Four years of research and development went into the design of the touch screen software. While previous touchscreen designs were not able to achieve the speed of the TMS keyboard interface, National Systems' new touch screen graphical interface has been demonstrated to actually take orders faster than the keyboard interface of the existing TMS/QuikOrder™ / ULTRA TMS™ system. This is a remarkable achievement since TMS® has a reputation as both the fastest and the most reliable system on the market.

Using state-of-the art software, the new touch screen option allows users to enter and edit orders for pizzas, subs, and other items, simply by touching the monitor screen. Caller ID is also fully integrated into the touch screen order entry workstation to maximize order-taking speed.

The elegantly designed touch screen makes the order process self-evident. Large, colorful "buttons" communicate choices clearly and logically and speed the order process.

New store employees can learn more quickly than before to take orders. This ease of use dramatically reduces the time and cost of training compared with traditional keyboard order-entry.

The touch screen option provides all the order-taking features of the TMS keyboard interface, including the option of integrated credit card processing.

Furthermore, the touch screen software is optimized for the latest G2 version of TMS, but is backward compatible with earlier releases of the software. This allows virtually any user of the TMS family of POS systems to upgrade an existing system without losing their original investment.

In keeping with the flexibility and committment to value that TMS users have long been familiar with, National Systems has designed the new touch screen interface to work in conjunction with existing terminals. This allows current users to upgrade one workstation at a time.
